The National Register of Professional Certifications (RNCP) is an official database managed by France Compétences. This register lists all the State-recognised certifications that award a qualification or a title certifying professional skills.
When a certification is listed on the RNCP, this means it has been assessed and validated by France Compétences and that it meets concrete needs of the labour market.
Why does this matter for you?
- Official recognition: your qualification is recognised by the State, companies and professional bodies.
- Employability: the programme prepares you for a clearly identified career with specific skills.
- National clarity: RNCP levels (from level 3 to level 7 or 8) correspond to the qualification levels of the French system and make equivalences easier.
France Compétences is the national authority for the regulation and funding of professional certification and apprenticeships. Created by the State, its mission is to guarantee the quality, transparency and efficiency of the certification system in France.
In concrete terms, France Compétences:
- Validates the titles and qualifications listed on the RNCP and the Répertoire Spécifique.
- Regulates the funding linked to professional training and apprenticeships (via OPCOs and the CPF, for example).
