Lift to Success
Lift to Success supports, over two years, STMG and vocational baccalaureate pupils towards a preparatory class and then towards the Master in Management (Programme Grande École), without sitting the entrance exam again: a pathway designed for families put off by the cost of long years of study.
A scheme for STMG and vocational baccalaureate pupils
Lift to Success supports volunteer STMG and vocational baccalaureate pupils enrolled in Excelia Business School's partner secondary schools, over two years, in the première and terminale years. Statistics often steer these two tracks towards rapid entry into employment, even before their pupils have had the chance to consider longer studies.
Alongside their usual timetable, they follow:
- general culture
- English
- corporate social responsibility (CSR)
- voice coaching
- personal development
- sophrology
Over the two years, this teaching aims to help them gain the confidence and skills that are sometimes missing to picture themselves in higher education.
The scheme is aimed primarily at families put off by the cost of long years of study: it opens up an option built with Excelia Business School's teams even before entry into higher education, and complements our other student engagement schemes.
From the social lift entrance exam to the preparatory class
In brief
At the end of the two years of support under the Lift to Success scheme, volunteer pupils sit its exit test: the social lift entrance exam. Those who pass it join a partner preparatory class for two years, before entering, subject to success there, the first year of the Master in Management at Excelia Business School, without sitting the entrance exam again. This is therefore not a symbolic commitment: it is a clearly mapped-out pathway, from secondary school through to the school.
This exam is aimed at pupils kept away from paid further study by financial difficulties. Applications are reviewed with an associative partner, the Fondation Agir Contre l'Exclusion 17, and successful candidates continue their pathway at the Venise Verte preparatory class, in Niort.

In return, Excelia Business School commits to the first year of schooling in the Master in Management, and then supports students towards work-study for the rest of the course.
Partner secondary schools, in mainland France and overseas
The Lift to Success scheme relies on a network of partner secondary schools in Charente-Maritime and in Deux-Sèvres, extended to preparatory classes in the overseas departments.
- La Venise Verte secondary school in Niort, which leads the cordées de la réussite
- Merleau-Ponty secondary school in Rochefort
- Doriole, Fénelon and Dautet secondary schools in La Rochelle
- La Salle Saint-Louis secondary school in Pont-l'Abbé-d'Arnoult
For pupils from overseas France, the partnership relies on the preparatory classes of Bellepierre secondary school in La Réunion and Frantz Fanon secondary school in Martinique: the STMG terminale pupils concerned sit the social lift entrance exam remotely in their baccalaureate year, before completing, if successful, two years of local preparatory class, then joining the first year of the Master in Management at Excelia Business School.
