School & Student Life

What does student life look like at Excelia Business School?

At Excelia Business School, student life is organised around student societies, solidarity engagement and field missions, and part of this experience is integrated into the curriculum, not left on the margins of your studies. Choosing a business school also means choosing the place where you will spend several years of your life, with everything that implies in terms of encounters, projects and responsibilities to take on.

In practice, this changes the way you approach these years. You do not wait until you graduate to steer a project, lead a team or carry a solidarity initiative: these experiences are lived during your studies, alongside your management classes, and directly feed the skills that companies look for. You learn to make concrete decisions and take on a role in front of a group, to the point of sustaining a commitment over time, reflexes that are built as much outside the lecture theatre as inside it. This closeness between coursework and the field is found across the whole of our programmes.

Getting involved during your studies

Engagement takes several forms at Excelia Business School:

• student societies
• Humacité© and Climacité© missions
• official recognition of commitments carried out outside of classes

Humacité© missions engage you in the service of associations, public institutions or local authorities, while Climacité© applies the same approach to environmental issues. Neither of these paths is compulsory, and nothing stops you combining them as your course progresses.

On each of our campuses, student societies run cultural, sporting, solidarity or entrepreneurial projects, driven by students who learn to manage a budget, organise an event or bring a team together. What sets this experience apart from a simple marketing argument is its real place within the curriculum: this engagement counts as genuine management experience, recognised as such by the school. As for the commitments you carry out outside of classes, they can be recognised by the school: your curriculum is adjusted accordingly, and the skills you develop there are valued right through to your degree.

Student life across four campuses

Excelia Business School welcomes its students on four campuses: La Rochelle, Tours, Orléans and Paris-Cachan, and while the fundamentals of student life are found everywhere, each campus has its own atmosphere.

Student societies, Humacité© and Climacité© missions and the recognition of engagement exist on each of the four campuses, with the same academic rigour from one site to another. What changes is the setting: the size of the city, its pace, its neighbourhood life make up, for each cohort, a slightly different experience. Studying at Excelia Business School is therefore not about following an identical programme everywhere; it is about choosing a campus that suits you, without giving up the rest of the educational project.

The exact structure of your studies depends on the programme chosen and the campus where it is delivered: our detailed brochure of our programmes lets you check, for the programme you are interested in, which campus it takes place on.

A recognised school

Choosing Excelia Business School means joining a school recognised by the State and holding the international quadruple accreditation EQUIS, AACSB, AMBA and EFMD Master.

Your degrees are also State-accredited and lead to the Grade de Licence or the Grade de Master depending on the programme chosen: you will find the details on our degrees recognised by the State. The school also appears in several benchmark rankings in the management school sector. This recognition is complemented by our internships, work-study and employability.
