An unforgettable humanitarian mission in Mauritius with Le Pont Du Tamarinier

Thanks to Excelia's Master in Management (Programme Grande École), I had the chance to take part in a volunteering mission with the Le Pont Du Tamarinier association, located on this magnificent island in the Indian Ocean.

School support and solidarity engagement in Mauritius

For several weeks, I supported Mauritian children with their learning, particularly in French, mathematics, English and science. This solidarity stay in Mauritius allowed me to build strong bonds with the children and the local teaching staff, while discovering the cultural and human richness of this destination. Their joy of living and their generosity, despite the difficulties they faced, touched me deeply.

Fun activities and cultural immersion

Beyond school support, we ran various activities: games, cooking workshops, cultural outings. One particularly memorable moment of this solidarity mission was the invitation to attend a show celebrating the day of the abolition of slavery, a major event in Mauritian history. Through songs, dances and performances, the children expressed their talent and their pride.

An experience full of meaning

This volunteering experience in Mauritius made me understand that education is much more than simple learning: it is a genuine lever of hope and emancipation. It allowed me to grow personally, to open myself to a new culture and to contribute concretely to local development.
