Succeeding in your studies and sporting career, a successful bet with Excelia

“Excelia gave me the flexibility I needed to combine my studies and my sport.”

Adventure story

Léa PINTAT, from Mennetou-sur-Cher, a small town in the Loir-et-Cher, is a young woman determined to succeed both in her studies and in her sporting passion. Currently in her third year of the Bachelor in Business, Banking and Insurance specialisation, Léa brilliantly combines her academic career at Excelia with her commitment to equestrianism, a sport she has practised since she was very young.

A long-standing passion for equestrianism

Equestrianism has been part of Léa's life since she was 6 years old. “I remember my earliest memories on horseback. It has always been a real passion for me, one that has grown over the years,” says Léa. Today, after 15 years in the sport, she is an accomplished rider, and has owned her own horse for eight years. She trains at the Centre équestre Les écuries des noues, where she competes at the highest level.

“This sport allows me to refocus, to find balance, whether in competition or in work with my horse,” she confides.

Although competition is intense, her long-term goal remains to become semi-professional, a choice that would allow her to offset the costs linked to competitions while continuing to pursue her dream at a higher level.

Excelia, a key partner in balancing studies and sport

After her BTS, Léa found in Excelia the school that matched her needs.

“Excelia gave me the flexibility I needed to combine my studies and my sport,” explains Léa.

Thanks to this flexibility, she was able to adapt her timetable around her training sessions and competitions.

“What I particularly appreciate is the school's understanding of my sporting commitments. They put in place adjusted timetables and helped me justify my absences for competitions. This allowed me to focus fully on my studies while continuing to pursue my sporting goals,” adds Léa.

Valuable advice for young people passionate about sport and studies

For Léa, the key to her balance lies in organisation. She advises those who are hesitant to combine studies and sport not to be afraid to take the plunge:

“Don't hesitate! I found that combining the two helped me to be more efficient and better organise my time. If you have the opportunity to do both, go for it. It's really worth it.”

A promising future

With a clear goal in mind, Léa is looking ahead to a future where she can continue to progress in equestrianism while developing her professional career.

“My professional goal is to be able to support equestrian businesses and continue to actively take part in the work of the French Equestrian Federation,” she explains.

Léa Pintat is a student on the Bachelor in Business at Excelia Business School, where she is working towards her degree while pursuing her sporting career. To continue training and competing in equestrian competitions during her studies, she benefited from an adjustment to her studies, one of the schemes offered by the support for athletes and competitors that Excelia Business School provides to students engaged in high-level sport.
