When artistic swimming meets management at Excelia
“Excelia is one of the few schools to offer a specialisation in sports event management, which matches my professional ambitions perfectly.”
Adventure story
“Morgane Lereverend, 21, from Normandy, is a young woman full of determination who has managed to combine her passion for artistic swimming with a demanding academic path. She started swimming at the age of 4, but it was at 7 that she specialised in artistic swimming. Since then, this sport has become far more than an activity: it is a true way of life.”
An exceptional sporting career in artistic swimming
Over the years, Morgane has taken part in numerous national and European competitions, standing out in team, solo and duo events. Her career has been marked by impressive performances, but that's not all. After almost 10 years of experience as a coach, judge and choreographer, she took part in setting up a disability sport section within her club, helping to take two swimmers to the Championnats du Monde.
But it was in August 2024, during the last Championnat du Monde in France, that she reached a new peak: as choreographer and captain of a team, she led her group to first place, a landmark achievement in her sporting career.
Morgane doesn't limit herself to competition. She is also an active figure in sports event management, having helped organise the Aquashow, an aquatic show in which 30 artists performed across two 45-minute performances.
“This kind of project has allowed me to combine my passion for sport with my creativity and my sense of organisation,” she explains.
This year, she continues to play a key role in the Aquashow, where she is responsible for communication and partnerships. At the same time, Morgane continues to compete at a high level, notably in the Nationaux 2 and the Européennes, while also acting as choreographer for a disability sport duo.
Combining studies and sport: the successful bet with Excelia
Throughout this impressive sporting career, Morgane has never neglected her studies. After obtaining her BTS, she went on to a Bachelor's degree in International Management at EM Normandie, and today she is studying for the MSc International Event Management and Marketing at Excelia. Thanks to the school's flexibility, she has been able to follow a demanding course of study while continuing to train intensively.
“Excelia is one of the few schools to offer a specialisation in sports event management, which matches my professional ambitions perfectly,” she explains.
Her goal is clear: to combine her management knowledge with her experience in sports event management to open more doors in this field in the future.
“Thanks to Excelia's flexibility, I was able to adjust my timetable around my competitions and travel, which allowed me to pursue my sporting dream while staying focused on my studies,” adds Morgane.
One of the most important things for her has been the personalised support offered by the school.
“I can justify my absences for competitions and benefit from academic follow-up that lets me catch up on classes I've missed. Excelia takes my status as a student athlete into account, which allows me to stay focused on both my studies and my sporting goals,” she says.
A message of inspiration for young athletes and students
Morgane strongly encourages young people who dream of combining studies and sport not to hesitate.
“There's a lot of sacrifice and hard work, but it's worth it! I've always pushed myself to seize every opportunity that has come my way, and I don't regret anything,” she confides enthusiastically.
