Biographie

Pierre Baret is a Full Professor at EXCELIA Business School. He holds a PhD in applied economics from Grenoble University and an HDR (Habilitation to Supervise Research) in management sciences from Poitiers University. He is in charge of the "Corporate Social Responsibility and Sustainable Development" research axis within the CERIIM. He also heads the "Evaluating and Reporting Global Performance" Chair within the IRSI (Institute for Social Responsibility through Innovation), which he co-founded in 2011 and directed from 2018 to 2021. He is member of CEREGE (UR 13564) where he directed the "Governance and Sustainable Development" theme from 2017 to 2023.

In addition, he is Vice-President of ADERSE, member of the RIODD Scientific Committee and was co-chair of the "Accounting and Control for Sustainability" standing track within EURAM from 2017 to 2022. He has published more than 30 research articles and book chapters on the topic of CSR. He has edited 3 research books on CSR as well as 7 special issues in referenced academic journals. He is a member of the scientific committee of 6 referenced academic journals and a reviewer for many others. He has organized or co-organized 10 academic conferences on CSR. Finally, he acts as an expert for public bodies (Plateforme RSE-France Stratégie, etc.) or associations dedicated to CSR (Orée, ORSE, etc.).

His research topics are related to the implementation and evaluation of responsible approaches, particularly through intervention research (a specific research method). For more than three decades, its objective has been to promote socially responsible research that serves a triple objective: 1) contributing to scientific knowledge in the field of CSR and sustainable development; 2) produce innovative studies allowing the operationalization of responsible approaches within organizations; 3°) nurture teaching rooted in the reality and current events of companies (by enabling students to understand how to identify CSR issues and provide innovative solutions).
