Overview
Excelia Business School's CSR/SD approach training brings together, in La Rochelle and for 6 days, professionals who have to bring corporate social responsibility (CSR) and sustainable development (SD) to life in their organisation. It leads from the policy framework to the mobilisation of the teams.
Why choose the Implementing CSR/SD with stakeholders course?
A written CSR/SD policy only becomes a practice if someone translates it into action. If yours already exists without having yet won over the teams, the Implementing CSR/SD with stakeholders course gives you what you need to take that step: an action plan that you learn to build and to implement, quantitative and qualitative indicators to measure its effects, and a scheme for monitoring CSR/SD practices.
You then work on the design of the training and awareness-raising schemes and tools, and then on how to unite and train the teams of CSR/SD correspondents, these relays through which an approach circulates within the organisation.
Bringing stakeholders on board, not just writing a policy
A CSR/SD approach involves more people than those who drafted it. The course therefore teaches you to identify and qualify stakeholders, spotting their obstacles as well as their strategic potential. It then teaches you to coordinate these stakeholders through collective intelligence techniques, so that the approach does not depend on your decisions alone. You then break down the strategic orientations into an operational action plan, which turns a framework laid down on paper into a shared project. If you are looking first for what CSR in business covers, a dedicated page answers that; here, the challenge is to implement it.
A certificate that validates a skills block
The course validates Block 3 RNCP37769BC03, a skills block listed on France's National Register of Professional Certifications (RNCP). This block recognises the skills you acquire during these 6 days; it is awarded as soon as each assessment is validated. The certificate Conducting a CSR/SD assessment of an organisation validates, for its part, block 1 of the same RNCP certification No. 37769. This course is offered by Excelia Business School, which holds the quadruple accreditation EQUIS, AACSB, AMBA and EFMD Master (see Excelia Business School's accreditations).
The skills targeted
Whether you are taking up a CSR post, coming from quality, environment or safety, or changing career, the course targets the same six skills. At the end of the course, you will be able to:
- Translate the CSR/SD policy
- Implement the action plan
- Define the quantitative and qualitative indicators
- Create a scheme for monitoring CSR/SD practices
- Design the training and awareness-raising schemes and tools
- Unite and train the teams of CSR/SD correspondents
The first four skills give the approach its steering, the last two get the teams to share in it. This course is part of the pathways for professionals at Excelia Business School's Executive Education Centre.
Curriculum
The course takes place face-to-face in La Rochelle, over 6 days, or 42 hours. It runs through three modules, of 2 days, 1 day and then 2 days, before a final day devoted to assessment.
How you learn
The pathway combines six teaching methods:
- Face-to-face teaching
- E-learning
- Tutoring and individual work
- Group work
- Practical case studies
- Experiential exercises
A practical scenario has you take on the role of a consultancy and/or training firm supporting a company in its CSR/SD approach.
How you are assessed
Each module is assessed independently of the others: a mark of at least 10 validates its assessment. You have one year after the end of the pathway to validate all the assessments, the certificate being awarded as soon as they are. The final assessment takes the form of a written presentation and an oral interview before a panel.
Four sequences to move from policy to practice
The first module sets the framework, then builds the action plan with the stakeholders. The second links social innovation to the measurement of impacts, the third focuses on the human side of the approach through to the training of the teams, and the assessment day closes the pathway. Each sequence unfolds below, with the list of its headings.
Deployment of a CSR/SD approach (2 days)
You situate the regulatory and standardisation framework, analyse strategies already in operation, then map the stakeholders on whom the approach depends, in order to draw an operational action plan from this.
Module titles
- Present the deployment challenges (regulation, standardisation, management) and the normative tools.
- Analyse existing CSR/SD strategies (benchmark, success factors, obstacles).
- Identify and qualify the stakeholders (mapping, obstacles and strategic potential).
- Coordinate the stakeholders through collective intelligence techniques for a CSR/SD strategy.
- Draw up an operational action plan by breaking down the strategic orientations (Gantt, Eisenhower matrix, impact estimation).
Social innovation and evaluation of CSR/SD approaches (1 day)
How do you know whether an approach is producing the expected effects? This module first links social innovation to its funding levers, then puts measurement in place, with the evaluation of social, environmental and economic impacts and qualitative and quantitative indicators to monitor the actions.
Module titles
- Understand social innovation and identify the associated funding levers.
- Evaluate the social, environmental and economic impacts of a CSR/SD approach.
- Implement qualitative and quantitative indicators to monitor the actions.
Implementation and monitoring of a CSR/SD approach (2 days)
The human side of the approach occupies these two days: what it changes in work, recruitment and retention, then how to raise awareness among, train and support the teams that will carry it. Human resources management (HRM) is studied here in its role of supporting change, and a visit to a committed player anchors the whole in observed practices.
Module titles
- Explore the links between CSR and the employer brand (recruitment, retention, work-life balance).
- Identify new forms of work and the basics of management in a CSR/SD approach.
- Understand the role of HRM in supporting change.
- Raise awareness among, train and support the teams in the face of CSR/SD challenges.
- Discover funding solutions for awareness-raising and training schemes.
- Visit a player committed to a CSR approach to observe concrete practices.
End-of-pathway assessment (1 day)
The last day brings together the work carried out during the pathway and presents it, in writing and orally.
Module titles
- Presentation of the case study from module 2.
- Putting a CSR/SD strategy in place and carrying out a case study.
- Finalisation and presentation of the deliverables (written report and oral presentation).
Funding
€4,200 net of tax per participant, for 6 days of training, or 42 hours. The sessions are held in La Rochelle, with dates provided on request.
How to fund the certificate
Four funding methods exist, depending on whether you bear the cost yourself or your company covers it:
- The personal training account (CPF), which you draw on yourself
- Your personal funds
- The skills development plan, for companies with fewer than 50 employees
- An OPCO (skills operator), through FNE funding (National Employment Fund)
What your company gains from it
The person you enrol leaves with the means to put in place in your organisation: an action plan, qualitative and quantitative indicators, and a scheme for monitoring CSR/SD practices. They also know how to design awareness-raising and training actions, and then unite and train the CSR/SD correspondents in-house, which gives the approach relays within the teams. For a pathway designed around your organisation, Excelia Business School also offers tailor-made in-company training.
At Excelia Executive Education, we offer personalised support to help every profile — company, employee, self-employed person or public sector employee — to make their training projects a reality by drawing on the most suitable funding schemes.
