My journey

After an STMG baccalaureate, I moved towards a DUT Techniques de commercialisation before specialising in real estate on a work-study basis.

Why real estate?

Simply because, during my previous course, I had the opportunity to complete two internship periods in real estate, which confirmed the particular interest I had in this sector.

Why did I choose Excelia?

First of all, for the diversity this programme offers. Indeed, all the services of the real estate sector are covered (sales transactions, lettings, lettings management, co-ownership), allowing us to broaden our knowledge and discover certain careers we had never thought of. Then, all of our lecturers are real estate professionals, who do not hesitate to share their experiences with us to make classes even more interesting and more meaningful.

Finally, the school has a partnership with Citya Immobilier, which opens its doors to work-study students wishing to continue in the field, within a dedicated pathway. As a work-study student at Citya Immobilier and a beneficiary of the preferred pathway this year, I am convinced that this experience will meet my expectations.

How does it work?

This is the first time I have opted for a work-study programme. At the start, I was worried about not managing to balance school and the company. And yet, everything is going really well! The work-study rhythm is 3 weeks in the company, followed by one week at school. The latter is often busy, but the Excelia team knows how to support us, listen to us and make sure everyone passes their year. We have end-of-semester exams that count for 60% of our final averages and continuous-assessment exams throughout the year, taking the form of group work, tutorials, oral presentations... which count for 40%.

What I like…

What I particularly appreciate is the quality of the teaching that the lecturers provide. In some subjects, we were lucky enough to go directly into the field to identify sites to buy for property development, or to visit Tours while learning to recognise the construction period of a building... In short, it is a very enriching programme...

A graduate of Excelia Business School's MSc in Real Estate Management, Jade Lenoir gave this testimonial during her studies, while she was on a work-study placement at Citya Immobilier. She therefore speaks about her work-study in the present tense, having joined the MSc after an STMG baccalaureate, then a DUT Techniques de commercialisation. If you are preparing your own project, the other testimonials from students and graduates offer you other points of comparison, told by those who lived them.
